You might of thought Sonic first appearance was in "Sonic the hedgehog" but you thought wrong my friend. Sonic first appeared in a racing game called "Rad mobile". This game was released 3 months before Sonic's first game was, by the way, Sonic was a hanging air freshener for the car, not a hedgehog.
2. Sonic ain't got no time for waiting in Sonic CD!
In other sonic games, sonic is really kind to wait for you for whatever reason your busy, yeah he shruggs his shoulders and taps his feet but he is patient but as for this one, he has had enough! In "sonic cd", sonic jumps out of the screen saying "I'm outta here!" And commits suicide after 3 minutes without controlling him. Don't keep him waiting gamers.
3. 'Sonic' wasn't his first name
Sonic the hedgehog wasn't his first name for the hedghog we all know, love, and adore, his first name was actually "Mr.needlemouse". Sega didn't had the taste for the name so a few weeks later, they came up with the name that they and us use today that fitted him perfect, Sonic.
4. Sonic was planned to have a girlfriend
Sonic was planned to have a girlfriend named Madonna, a woman, not a animal. Sonic was planned to rescue her from Dr.eggman instead of the little critters we all know today. Madonna was a red dressed blonde woman that could've competed with the animated Jessica rabit for best animated turn-on. Sega knew it wouldn't be appropriate so they scrapped Madonna out since they knew young gamers are playing their games.
5. Sonic's long running comic!
Sonic’s Archie Comics line is still running to this day! That makes the comic line 20 years old, one of the longest running comic lines period and the longest running comic line based on a video game!
6. Why is Sonic Blue?
Sonic reflects the Sega™ logo, blue stands for peace so sega wanted to let the gamers know that Sonic is a good-guy with a bad attitude nature.
7. Unfortunately, the 2011 Guinness World Records Gamers Edition put him in tenth, with Mario in first.
